Department seeks public comments before Council approval
Niagara Falls, NY - The City of Niagara Falls Community Development Department (NFCD) has released its Revised Draft 2019 Action Plan according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) 2019 allocations for the City of Niagara Falls Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME), and Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) programs. The Revised Draft 2019 Action Plan adjusts the funding levels from the Draft 2019 Action Plan unanimously approved by Niagara Falls City Council on March 6, 2019.
“We are happy to receive our 2019 allocations much earlier than expected,” Seth Piccirillo, Director of Community Development stated. “It will allow us to bring these federal dollars to our community projects much quicker than usual.”
Residents are encouraged to weigh in on the Revised Draft 2019 Action Plan. A 30-day public comment period will open on Monday, April 22, 2019 and close on Wednesday, April 22, 2019. A public hearing will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at the Carnegie Building (1022 Main Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14301) at 5:30 PM.
Public comments must be received by the Department of Community Development on or before Wednesday, May 22 at 12:00 PM. Residents can comment on the Revised Draft 2019 Action Plan online at nf-cd.org/participate, in-person at the public hearing, in-person at the Carnegie Building during regular office hours (8am to 4pm, Tuesday through Thursday), or by mail to Niagara Falls Community Development, Attn: 2019 Action Plan, PO Box 69, Niagara Falls, NY 14302.
